Quicken is an excellent software to manage your personal finance. However, sometimes you might encounter some errors that interrupt the workflow. One such error is Quicken Error -CC-502 that comes up when updating accounts.

It is essential to take immediate and correct action to amend Quicken Error CC-502. Checking the community forum is recommended before you start any troubleshooting.

Steps to resolve Quicken Error-CC-502

Update Quicken to the latest release

Firstly, check updates by going to Help>> check for updates. If you see no updates available, then a confirmation prompt will come up telling you that you are on the latest release.

Wait for at least one business day, and then refresh your Online Account information

Secondly, you need to wait for a business day and then move ahead. The error message appears because of your bank’s website maintenance. Try updating the next business day. If the issue is still there after one business day, then look at the below steps to resolve the issue.

• Open transaction register for an account that showed the error message.
• Next, click ‘Gear Icon’ on the upper right of the register, and choose ‘update now.’
• Now, follow the On-screen instructions to finish this update
• Repeat these steps for each account that has this error.
• For the immediate solution of Quicken Error-CC-502, call now at Quicken Support number and speak to a technical expert. 

What to do if the above steps did not resolve the issue?

However, if the above steps could not resolve the issue, it might be a scenario that the ‘Bank Account Login Password’ has special characters that interfere with Quicken software’ s capabilities to download transactions. The special characters might be (but are not limited to), the ampersand (&), left carat (<), right carat (>), backslash (), and forward slash (/). Perform the below steps to complete the process.

Note: The steps are for the accounts that are set up for Express Web Connect. If you have an account via Direct Connect or Web Connect, then the steps will not work.

• Firstly, Log into the Bank’s website
• Next, change the password to characters other than special characters (&, <,>, , or /).
• Now Launch Quicken & go to Tools>>Password Vault>>Add/Edit Passwords.
• Now press on Account in the Password Vault
• Next, click ‘Change Password’ for the account
• Fill in the same password that was used to log into the bank’s website, & Click Change and press Done
• Choose Tools>> One Step Update to check and confirm that the issue is resolved.

Important: Change the password with your bank to use the characters which are different from these five special characters. Presence of these characters can obstruct your Express Web Connect account activation in Quicken.
